A celebration of the Arkansas River, the Blue Paddle FibArk Whitewater Festival in Salida has a wide range of activities for rafters to families. This mid-June festival started in 1949 as a mere race, and today has grown to include a number of land and water races, live entertainment, workshops, vendors, a parade, games, a carnival and much more. The events are held at various locations throughout the town.
